Wife Rendered Obsolete: Awesome Robot Now Fetches Beer For You

Spark the envy of your friends with the absolutely freaking awesome T2 from Willow Garage – the robot that fetches your favorite brand from the fridge, opens it and looks you in the eye hoping for your approval while handing it to you.
In the light of this most recent development in terms of technological advancement, we dare to go as far as to call wives obsolete. Not women. Wives. Women will still be needed for perpetuating the species and because we love big jugs.
Apparently powered by a little bit of a linux interface, the T2 rolls itself to the fridge, opens the door, scans the contents of said fridge for the brand you’ve just requested, grabs it, closes the refrigerator door then walks back and opens it for you. Mind you it won’t let go of the beer unless its little digital eyes catch your face in the picture.
Sure enough, bitter already-married people who are undoubtedly jealous, might comment that a small fridge filled with beer sitting next to your chair is more affordable, hella faster and doesn’t need all that extra stuff (a robot, dedicated fridge, cables, computer). And the whole setup probably costs as much as all the beer they’re gonna get to drink for the rest of their lives.
To those we say: you forget the part where the beer is delivered by a super awesome brand-aware robot you assholes.
There is hope for humanity, you stay in the course.

I’d lose my buzz by the time that thing got back with my next beer.
Why not make a robot that dispenses beer?
