10 Comfort Songs To Listen To When Feeling Gloomy

We don’t really know what that means, because we’re men and we never get the blues, right?. But just in case and only because misery loves company, here’s ten songs via youtube that might help you through those moments when you’re likely to slip into despair and go all touchy-feely on us.
Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey – When You Believe

Whitney and Mariah surprised everyone when they decided to team up for this one, but it was for a very good and noble cause, besides making millions off selling records or royalties from this song going on the soundtrack of Prince of Egypt, of course.
They also wanted to make their “siblings” feel good! And yes, by siblings, I mean every person similar to them, that gets so sucked into lack of initiative that they need some shouting diva telling them they can move mountains in order to succeed in life.
In a parallel universe, where Whitney and Mariah wouldn’t be huge popstars, they would prolly either be crackwhores, or they’d be housewives crying on this tune.
Radiohead – No Surprises

Then, for a more specialized take on things, we always have world-famous falsetto whinings of Thom Yorke. The fact that such a weirdo with a dysfunctional face made it big and he’s now even a new distinct kind of a beauty icon should be comforting enough for people with inferiority complexes about the way they look.
Thom has now been provoking finger-movements on clits in private bedrooms of slightly-goth-often-depressed teenager’s bedrooms since 1999 and his assymetry is the perfect reason for you to accept yours now too!
Monty Python – Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

Okay, now this one is actually a personal favorite. Three crucified guys singing about how you should look on the bright side of life should get to anyone’s sensitive side, even for an insensitive prick like me.
Usually, you don’t even need to be down, this song is pure optimism-creating shot in the arm for everyone, from a Cradle-of-Filth-loving sunken in self-pity 15 years old to almighty Chuck Norris. It just works.
Three Dog Night – Easy To Be Hard

This one’s for lonely fellas who are in need for affection more than this cruel world has to offer. And also for wankers. And suicidal guys with 70s style sideburns.
Go ahead, sit on your rug, picking up your own tears, putting them in a glass and then drinking them as a cup of the middle class man’s sorrow. It won’t make you feel more optimistic, but it will comfort you thinking that life is hard. Acknowledging it is already 3% of having a better life! You the Man!!!
The Beatles – With a Little Help From My Friends

Are you completely failing at life or are you afraid that you might be doing so in the future? Stop it right there! You need a soundtrack for that.
Before taking destructive decisions in a rush, before making any mistakes, before doing bad what you must do good, turn this song on and look around. Your friends will always be there for you. Failure is sweeter when there’s company.
